President’s Health Secret

We will not learn whether something troubles President Lech Kaczyński. The Office of the President of the Republic of Poland will not publish a report about the President’s health as demanded by Janusz Palikot from Civic Platform. “It is not a Polish custom,” emphasized Anna Fotyga, head of the Office, on Radio Zet. The weekly Wprost has been writing about the issuing of such a report. The document’s goal was to cut speculations about the worsening health of Lech Kaczyński. “Such rumours are very distressing. And there still appear to be new ones, from Alzheimer’s to the President having a tumour. Meanwhile all this information is fabricated,” according to someone from the President’s camp. However, Anna Fotyga also cut short speculations about the report itself. “There will be no report about President Kaczyński’s health,” she told Radio Zet. “At the moment such a report is not prepared,” Wojciech Lubiński, the President’s private doctor on RMF FM. “But”, he added, “if Lech Kaczyński wants such report it can be written and made public.” Reports about Lech Kaczyński’s health would be a precedence in Poland. However, in America it is regular practice. Detailed test results of the President of the United States are published once a year, usually in the holiday season.
