Mistakes – Religa

Zbigniew Religa, former Minister of Health, announced that in his opinion Miroslaw G, the surgeon suspected of malpractice made certain mistakes during treatment but there is possibility of murder or manslaughter. The District Prosecution Service in Warsaw announced on Thursday that the investigation into the former head of the MSWiA hospital Miroslaw G, has ended. The investigation was into the murder the patient (Jerzy G. who suffered from pneumonia and died shortly after transplant surgery) by Mirosław G. as well as endangering the life and health of another (Florian M. who died after 70 days when a swab had been left in his heart). Three experts were asked to give their opinion on this case. According to prosecuting attorneys, only Professor Religa gave a negative one. “Three conclusions were drawn. First, I think it was a huge mistake not to examine the resistance of the lungs. Second, I do not understand why the left ventricle was assisted instead of right, which was malfunctioning. Third, the operation was conducted correctly,” explained Prof. Religa on RMF Radio.
