40,000 fans at the Nou Camp saw their beloved Barcelona demolish Wisła Kraków 4-0 in the first leg of the third qualifying round of the Champions League. Wisła who had impressed in the second leg of the previous round beating Beitar Jerusalem 5-0 looked as if they might be a stiff test for Barcelona.

However, Barça had other plans, although Wisła missed a gilt-edged chance in the 10th minute, Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o made amends and bagged the first goal of the night in the 18th, seven minutes later Xavi Hernandez put the Catalan side 2-0 up. Barça was cruising.
Catalans Cruising
Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry put the Catalans 3-0 up soon after the re-start and Samuel Eto’o turned up again in the 83rd to bag his second of the night and put Barça 4-0 up on the night and put the tie well out reach for Wisła. On this type of performance it will take a gargantuan effort for Wisła to even score a goal against Barcelona let alone challenge the Catalan side for the right to progress to the Champions League proper. Perhaps Wisła is waiting for a miracle…
