Should we beat children? Every sensible parent would say no. However, advisers to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk are of a different opinion During the Wydarzenia news bulletin some experts claimed that one cannot guarantee a small baby’s safety without using physical constraint and force. The legislature think tank, which advises the PM, is made up of fifteen professors specializing in education and pedagogy. They have been considering possible ways to amend the law on domestic violence. “Scolding, even physical force, is not the same as beating a child; without elements of coercion and force it is impossible to guarantee even basic safety for a small child,” we heard during Wydarzenia on Polsat TV. The members of the think tank refused to comment on this baffling opinion.
