Doda in Court
The gossip websites have been waiting a long time for this moment. Doda has filed a suit against Super Express. The suit concerns her pants, or rather their lack of in a photo published by the tabloid. A year ago Doda appeared at the Telekamery Awards in a dress with a deep cut revealing her thigh. The paparazzi took advantage of it and a shocking picture was published in Super Express. It looked like Doda had ‘forgotten’ to put on her underwear. The artist was outraged and accused the newspaper of deliberately altering the picture digitally. Pomponik.pl published a statement by Doda’s management: “Our patience with regard to the moronic and misleading articles has gone. We advise you not to use digital touch-up for removing underwear. People are fed up with your sick and perverted garbage”. As it turns out, Doda is demanding PLN 100,000 from the publisher of Super Express. It is a serious dispute over freedom of speech and celebrity privacy. Perhaps some astute judgements will be formed by the lawyers. The process started in June 2008 but was initially blocked due to procedural issues. Pudelek.pl, Plotek.pl and Pomponik.pl avoided reporting this fact. However, the case resumed on Friday.
