TVP Supremo
Soon no one in Polish Television (TVP) will be able to read Gazeta Wyborcza. Wojciech Bosak, head of TVP, has ordered everyone in the company to cancel their subscriptions to this newspaper. The official explanation is a reduction of costs. However, some people think that it may be revenge on Gazeta Wyborcza which recently printed a letter attacking TVP. The decision was made by Wojciech Bosak, a member of the right-wing League of Polish Families (LPR), former deputy minister of construction in the previous Law and Justice (PiS) government, and head of TVP. All TV stations have been already informed about the decision. “Due to financial problems all TV stations are required to reduce costs by cancelling their subscriptions of Gazeta Wyborcza,” wrote Bosak. Gazeta Wyborcza reports that “it looks like TVP wants to get revenge on us.” The whole affair relates to Krzysztof Krauze’s letter in which the famous director demands a boycott of TVP governed by Piotr Farfał on May 3. “TVP has been taken over by neo-Nazis and All-Polish Youths [a right-wing, quasi-fascist organisation]. Today TVP is governed by people who no one would normally let into their homes,” wrote Krauze.
