Train Problems
Warsaw citizens who commute by train are extremely unlucky. Yesterday, a cable was stolen and one train broke down, which crippled Warsaw’s Central Station. Today in the morning trains stopped again. This time it was a junctions failure at the Western Station. A SKM train also stopped. “We have some bad luck,” says Jan Telecki, Chairman of PKP Group. “Two junctions broke down. However, it is being dealt with by the crew”. The junctions broke down just after 8 am. This minor fault led to railway chaos in Warsaw again. A few trains were stuck in the middle of a tunnel. People started leaving the trains and walking on the tracks towards the end of the tunnel. “This is completely irresponsible! People shouldn’t have got off the trains,” said an irritated railway man. Normal operation was brought back after several minutes. But only for a few minutes after which all the trains on the main track stopped. However, this was not the only railway problem today. According to TVN Warsaw, the problems occurred at about 7:30 am. An SKM train from Pruszków to Warsaw broke down in Ursus. Passengers walked to the nearest train station through fields. Some trains are still standing. The situation will improve but trains will probably begin running on time a lot later today. Yesterday, the situation in Warsaw was the same. At dawn a thief cut a high voltage cable and, consequently, trains came to a standstill and another SKM train broke down.
