Mobile Ticketing
There will no longer be queues in ticket offices because Polish State Railways (PKP) are implementing a system which will enable us to buy train tickets by mobile phone. However, since we are talking about PKP, we will have to wait a little longer until the system starts to work. So far, all that is available online is the timetable. The system will allow us to not only check timetables using our mobile phones, but in the future also buy tickets. A company, operating under the name TK Telekom and controlled by the State Treasury and PKP, has introduced the first elements of the railway transport information service SITKol. The portal www.sitkol.pl allows passengers to obtain information about timetables, as well as plan a journey in Poland and in Europe. When it comes to Warsaw, the system is integrated with the city transport timetable.
