For the first time a private, regional Polish television station will be broadcast in the USA. Americans will now be able to watch TV Silesia for a few hours daily. Slave Isaura, a TV series from the 1980s, could make particularly interesting viewing for American audiences. At exactly midnight, the DISH Network, the American direct broadcast satellite service will begin broadcasting TV Silesia. The head of the Polish TV station is Sławomir Zieliński, former head of TVP1. Zieliński told Dziennik that TV Silesia will conquer the American market. “We want to reach not only Polish viewers but also Americans. There are may Silesians in the USA.” 24h TV Silesia broadcasts mainly news. Apart from news from the Silesia region, the TV station will also broadcast entertainment shows such as Silesian Song Gala (Gala Piosenki Śląskiej). On the last day of December, TV Silesia wants to organise a New Year’s Eve party and broadcast the concert live from Katowice the whole night.Dziennik
