A priest, Father Wojciech, has been sentenced by a court for the possession of pornographic images of minors. But despite the sentence he is still teaching in a school. The Board of Education has attempted to intervene in this case despite his conviction. Father Wojciech’s computer contained nine images of a paedophile nature. The priest was sentenced to one year imprisonment, suspended for three years. However, the sentence is not binding and the priest is still waiting for legal justification of his sentence but this has not deterred him from teaching religion to children in a school in Michałowice. “The judgment is not legally valid, and I also know he is a well-mannered person,” says Teresa Gawlik, head teacher of the school. “He is a good teacher of religion and well committed. He organises trips and our parents are happy, the students too. I have had no complaints about him,” she adds.
