According to European Commission forecasts, the next two years will bring a satisfactory economic recovery confirmed by rises in GDP of 2.5% and 2.9%, respectively. A OECD forecast shows a marked increase in GDP per capita; however, at the same time the analysis demonstrates that the Polish economy will not manage to catch up with the world leaders for the next 50 years. What is more, the OECD predicts that in 2060 Polish GDP per capita will be lower than that of Mexico and Turkey and even the world average. “The European economy has reached a turning point,” the European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs recently declared.
