The Radiological Society of North America has granted honorary membership to Polish Professor Małgorzata Szczerbo-Trojanowska. The news was made public in McCormick Place, Chicago during the annual congress organised by this largest of and most prestigious of societies. The Radiological Society of North America honoured Professor Szczerbo-Trojanowska for her remarkable achievements in interventional radiology, for her educational work, and her involvement in improving radiology standards all over the world. Professor Szczerbo-Trojanowska heads the School of Radiology and the Faculty of Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology at the Medical University in Lublin. “Without Professor Szczerbo-Trojanowska’s involvement in radiology and interventional radiology Poland would not be at the level it is today. Thanks to her work in education she is changing the face and future of radiology across the whole of Europe,” according to Dr. Sarah Donaldson, CEO of the Radiological Society of North America. Professor Szczerbo-Trojanowska has undertaken scientific research in many European universities, including Uppsala University in Sweden and Giessen University in Germany. She gives lectures at the European School of Radiology. She has published nearly 200 scientific articles. She is also helped establish the Polish Medical Society MRI. Among the prizes she has won are the medal of the American Society of Woman Radiologists and the medal of the European Radiological Society.
