Ukraine Situation Unforeseeable

The pessimistic scenario put forward by Poland’s Ministry of Economy is a drop of 20-30% with regards Polish exports to Ukraine. Entrepreneurs and businesses are emphasising that the situation has been a lot worse before and that it has always returned to normal with time. The Ministry of Economy reported that during the first twenty days of 2014, Polish exports to Ukraine had already fallen by almost 10%. Ukraine comes in eighth place with regard to Poland’s export markets. The preliminary data of the Ministry of Economy shows that in the first three quarters of 2013 trade between the two countries amounted to $5.7 billion and Poland could boast of an import surplus from Ukraine which amounted to $1.6 billion.
