Tough in Lublin

Where is it easiest to find a job in Poland in order to earn enough to buy a house? Up to 41% of young Poles still live with their parents. There are many reasons for this but what is most important is the economic barrier which leads to high unemployment, low wages and unattainable house prices. However, according to a league table created by Gazeta Wyborcza, there are several cities in Poland which show a marked difference in their ability to provide young people with better conditions for their future adult life compared to other cities. Such factors as the possibility to find work, salaries and house prices were used in creating the league table. It seems the best cities are Gdańsk, Warsaw, Poznań, Wrocław and Szczecin. In turn, the worst cities are Białystok, Rzeszów and Lublin. In terms of the possibility to find work, Wrocław comes out top and the rate of unemployment among people aged 25-34 is lowest. Wrocław is followed by Poznań, Warsaw, Gdańsk, Kraków and Katowice. In comparison, the hardest cities for young people to find work are Lublin, Białystok, Kielce, Częstochowa, Radom and Płock. In terms of salaries, Warsaw comes out top and the average gross salary is PLN 6,000. In comparison, the average gross salary in Gdańsk, Wrocław, Poznań, Kraków, Katowice, Płock does not exceed PLN 4,500.
