The Ministry of the Environment has commended the work of Polish MPs on the amendment to the Waste Management Act, however, it has its own proposals, which we will learn of in the second part of the year. The deputy minister Janusz Ostapiuk highlights the fact that proposals put forward by MPs, led by Civic Platform (PO) member Tadeusz Arkit, do away with some of the mistakes in the current law. The deputy minister said that the amendment was divided into two parts. The first comprises improvements that will simplify waste management declarations. The new act will assess the duties of owners and managers of real estate and will also establish how regularly refuse collection has to take place. Biodegradable and mixed waste will be picked up at least once every two weeks from detached houses and at least once every week from other types of real properties.
