Mateusz Szczurek, Poland’s Minister of Finance, has announced that Artur Radziwiłł has been nominated Deputy Minister of Finance. “Yesterday, Mr Artur Radziwiłł received his nomination. He will be responsible for quality control in budget spending,” said Szczurek during the European Economic Congress in Katowice. Artur Radziwiłł was born in 1974. He has degrees in economics from Sussex University, Warsaw University and a PhD from the University of London. During his studies, he participated in the Columbia Program at Columbia University. Since 1998 he has worked with the CASE Foundation (the Center for Social and Economic Research), where he is responsible for macroeconomic policy issues in countries that are in the process of transformation. In 1998-1999 he worked as an advisor to the Moldova government and has also participated in projects in Armenia, Romania, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. Currently, he is the deputy head of the CASE board of directors. What is more, he has been a researcher for the World Bank, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), International Labour Organization (ILO), Federal Agency for Technical Relief and the Global Development Network (GDN). He specialises in issues concerning monetary integration, transformation, public finances and the job market. As well as his native Polish, he speaks fluent English and Russian.
