Polish Emigrants

Brave New World?

Brave New World?

Over 2.1 million Polish emigrants made approximately PLN 885 billion, of which a proportion of this money financed the Polish economy, according to Gazeta Wyborcza based on Euro-Tax data. National Bank of Poland (NBP) data shows that 50% of those who work abroad support their families by sending a large proportion of the money they earn back to Poland. Last year, this amounted to €4.1 billion which is actually the poorest result for many years. In other words, the only positive effect for Poland of the large wave of Polish emigration is decreasing. Euro-Tax, which mediates in regaining the tax of Polish emigrants, shows that the average wage of Poles living abroad is slightly more than PLN 6,000.
