Taking Stock?

Hortex, one of the leaders of the juices and frozen foods market, is planning to be listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW), according to Puls Biznesu. It is one of the most recognisable post-1989 brands in Poland and was founded in 1958. Puls Biznesu says that it has information about Hortex going public from three independent sources. Hortex will be introduced on to the stock market by Ipopema. It is an attempt by the Argan Capital investment fund, which bought Hortex seven years ago, to make a sizeable profit. Argan has already tried to sell the company, but without success. Now it wants to introduce a minority shareholding to the stock market if a willing investor appears. Stock market experts claim that the introduction of Hortex on the GPW is great news. Currently, apart from Grupa Żywiec and Wawel S.A, there are no major food companies on the stock exchange in Warsaw. The Hortex brand is so recognizable that it will surely attract investors.
