Poland has the opportunity to create thousands of workplaces in the aerospace industry, all thanks to numerous large tenders, which will attract new investors. The fact that even Airbus is interested in Poland offers many possibilities for the future. Through these new investments Poland could move into the world top ten in terms of the most powerful aerospace industries. Director of the Aviation Valley Association Marek Darecki stresses that the Subcarpathian province, where the headquarters of Aviation Valley is located, continues to witness an inflow of foreign investors. These are mostly small- and medium-sized companies, however, large corporations have also become interested in investing in the sector. The Aviation Valley group brings together Polish enterprises, as well as branches of companies like United Technology Corporation, MTU Aero Engines, Goodrich and Safran. Poland produces many parts which are used in popular airliners all over the world, for example for the Airbus A320 (engine parts and additional APU power units) and the Boeing 747 (engine parts). On-going negotiations concerning the modernisation of the Polish army could prove crucial for the development of this sector. Darecki states that thanks to this, Airbus might want to create an industrial plant in Poland. The European company already owns the PZL Warszawa-Okęcie plant. “Not a day goes by without new investors coming to Subcarpathia, therefore the factories of large corporations will also start to develop here. Interestingly, small- and medium-sized aerospace companies from Western Europe want to transfer their premises and workplaces to Poland, firstly because Polish employees have a good working ethos, and secondly because paradoxically, legislation in Poland is more favourable for entrepreneurs. France, Italy and many other countries have legislation so rigid, that investors do not want to spend their money there,” emphasises the head of Aviation Valley.
