The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBŚ) intercepted more than 2 million kilograms of illegal drugs in 2014. Officers secured 1,500 kilograms of marijuana and 325 kilograms of amphetamine. There are a great many new professional plantations where marijuana is now grown in Poland, but at the same time cocaine is becoming more popular in Poland also. It has been found that Polish drug producers often cooperate with gangs from the Netherlands and Morocco. Marijuana is considered a soft drug which causes no harm to humans hence it being so popular, however, it is still illegal in Poland. Polish criminal groups are also involved in the production of synthetic and hard drugs, such as amphetamine and cocaine.
