Outgoing President, Bronisław Komorowski, has withdrawn an act which allows people to retire after 40 years of work. The Office of the President claims that the reason for this decision was the result of the recent Presidential elections, which saw Bronisław Komorowski lose to Andrzej Duda. The Office also added that there would not be enough time left to carry out all important procedures that need to be fulfilled.Four days before the elections, during a meeting with trade unions, President Komorowski introduced a draft law giving the possibility to retire before reaching retirement age. The President promised to send the draft to the Senate, the head office of trade unions, and to the Ministry of Labour by 22 May. However, this promise was broken and according to a spokesman of the Solidarity trade union, they did not have any possibility of getting acquainted with the draft before the elections.
