Mothers on Labour Market

Working Mother

Working Mother

According to Pracuj.pl, for almost 40% of economically active women, a good work-life balance is important when looking for a new employer. 13% believe that a lack of a good work-life balance is a reason for finding a new job. Earning a decent salary is also a key factor that encourages women to look for a new job or change the one they already have. Other essential aspects are flexible working hours (18%) and additional benefits (17%). Many employers believe that working mothers have skills that make them stand out on the labour market. The ability to reconcile competing demands, responsiveness, flexibility and multi-tasking are just some of the qualities developed by mothers at home in everyday life. When these skills are transposed into the workplace, they prove to be extremely useful. Some companies are known to wait for mothers to return after maternity leave and then offer them additional privileges in order to make it easier to get back to work and reconcile that with parenthood. Unfortunately, few Polish companies run nurseries and kindergartens for the children of employees.
