As announced in his election campaign, President Andrzej Duda submitted a bill under which the retirement age would be restored to the level before the reform, which is 60 years for women and 65 for men. The draft stipulates that the first four years would cost the state budget PLN 40 billion. According to the government, costs could be up to ten times higher. Experts point out that the lowering of the retirement age must involve raising taxes or lowering the retirement benefits. According to the survey, conducted by Ipsos, Poles prefer to work longer hours than receive lower benefits.
